CHINESE DELEGATION OF CHIEF SURGEONS COMING TO NYC TO OBSERVE LEON E. POPOVITZ, MD TO PERFORM ARTHROSCOPIC SURGERY
A delegation of Chief Surgeons of the Central Hospital of Yongzhou in China will be visiting New York City to observe Leon E. Popovitz, MD, co-founder and chief orthopedic surgeon of New York Bone & Joints Specialists, perform arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and arthroscopic surgery of the knee. The Chinese surgeons’ goal is to learn how to improve the orthopedic surgery healthcare for patients in China.
In addition to viewing Dr. Popovitz’ expertise in arthroscopic surgery, his associate, Rupesh Tarwala, MD, will provide a lecture on robotic computer technology for hip joint replacement, comparing the anterior hip replacement and posterior hip replacement approaches.
In light of China’s short history with arthroscopic and joint replacement procedures, the delegation aims to exchange knowledge on innovative technologies in arthroscopic surgery, joint replacement surgery and post-operative rehabilitation.
